Solidago virgaurea, in Nederland beter bekend als Guldenroede, is een fraaie meerjarige plant met talloze kleine gele bloemetjes, die zo'n 60 cm hoog wordt. De plant wordt vooral aangetroffen in bosrijke streken en heidegebieden.
Solidago heeft een positieve werking op de nieren en ondersteunt een goede nierfunctie, zodat u goed kunt blijven plassen. De plant helpt de blaas en de nieren schoon te houden en draagt zo bij aan een goede vochtbalans. Indirect draagt Solidago daarmee bij aan het behoud van een gezonde bloeddruk.
Solidago heeft tevens een positieve invloed op de luchtwegen. Solidago verzacht en geeft verlichting, zowel op korte als op langere termijn. In de vorm van een tinctuur wordt Solidago snel door het lichaam opgenomen.
